Aeris XR1 NX dive computer has only 1 button for programming and retrieving information. It has 3 bar graphs to represent graphically information you will need during dive or while on the surface:
During diving you will get several displays - 4 in No-Decompression mode and 3 in Decompression mode with dive data related to each situation. You may easily swap them by pressing control button.
Dive computer has 3 Main Modes:
At this stage we will set up our Aeris XR1 NX either for Air or Nitrox diving. We will access Set mode when Surface Sequence is scrolling and adjust not too many parameters.

Upon reaching certain conditions of dive you may get Safety Stop prompt that pops up automatically and the most important values we need to read on that display are Safety Stop Depth and Time. You may see Fast Ascent warning during ascending if you exceed certain speed range at certain depths. If this happens - all segmants of VARI will flash and you need to slow down to below the alarm rate.
If we exceed No-Decompression Limits (NDLs), Aeris XR1 NX will activate Decompression mode to assist us with decompression procedure and it does its job perfectly.

Also we may have few violation displays (if you make any violation, of course!) and high PO2 and High O2 warnings and alarms, as Aeris XR1 NX constantly monitors our oxygen accumulation and PO2 level. As you may see - this dive computer is very basic instrument with all necessary functions for Air and Nitrox diving, no any Gauge and Freedive modes stuff!
After surfacing and 10 minutes of Transition period you will have an access to following modes of Aeris XR1 NX:
Aeris XR1 NX: What Divers Say
Aeris XR1 NX is a basic scuba diving computer that is good for beginners and divers who need a solid and reliable backup dive computer. It has perfect structured docs, so you will learn it very quick. This dive computer doesn't have audio alarms and backlight, so you need to watch out for these! This is my personal opinion about audio in dive computers – if you are a beginner – you should buy dive computer with audio signal and with the backlight!
But if you do not care about audio and you have an underwater torch (should always have one!) – don’t worry! Aeris XR1 NX is still perfect dive computer that will never let you down – easy to learn and easy to use, and as I said - perfect for backup dive instrument, especially if you make a nice console with it!

I've been diving recreationally for many years and my buddy Aeris XR1 NX never failed me! I use it as a navigational console and it is my main dive computer. I don't care about downloading to PC all my logs, so lack of PC interface is not a big issue for me!
Very easy to set up and use in comparison to what my mates have. It has easy to read display and I can retrieve dive data with the press on one button.
Aeris XR1 NX is an old buddy - it's been around for quite a while, but I think, that I won't replace it for something more modern in a future.
I've been diving with Aeris XR1 Nx with SPG in console for more than 5 years and loved it very much, thanks to its reliability and easiness of use. But once, in some way, it got flooded. It happened after I did battery replacenment and accidentally damaged the o-ring, and didn't notice it. When I saw my dive computer with water inside - it was too late! So, it was purely my fault and rush to go underwater.
Well, I think it was just time to let it go and now I'm going for Oceanic BUD - let's see for how long it will last with me!
But Aeris XR1 Nx is still perfect for backup device - no doubts about that!
I had Aeris XR1 NX in a console with SPG.
I like simple things and it does everything that I expected from dive computer like this. All critical data displayed on a easy to read and understand screens, it allowes me diving with 1 Nitrox mix. Very user-friendly instrument.
I read other reviews with complaints about ascent rate indicator to be very sensitive. And that is correct, so it took me some time to adjust my ascent accordingly.
Overall, I am very pleased with Aeris XR1 Nx.
